GOD ALWAYS HAS AN ALTERNATIVE

Luke 5 v 1 - 2.

One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret,[a] the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of God. He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets.

Welcome to Friday morning the 2nd of June 2023. May the good Lord protect you throughout this glorious weekend and even beyond in Jesus' name.

Becoming a disappointment to God

My theme for this morning's devotion is, " GOD ALWAYS HAS AN ALTERNATIVE " God prepares people for assignments. In most cases, if there is a failure on the part of the one God has prepared for the accomplishment of the assignment, another person rises to the occasion.

A case in point is the episode between Queen Vashti and Esther. Esther 1 v 15 to 17. Another example can be found in Luke 14:15-24, where Jesus spoke about a parable of a rich man who invited men unto a feast. When the men turned the invitation down, he obliged his servants to go and bring commoners from the streets to enjoy the feast. When God gives us an opportunity, we have to quickly make use of it.

Today, we are looking at yet another scripture in Luke 5: 1-2, it reads; as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret, and saw two boats standing by the Lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nests.  "   To better understand this message, kindly read Luke 5 v 1 to 6. To begin with, understand that, God always has an alternative solution to every challenge.

The Bible says, " There were two boats standing by the Lake. Watch this: Supposing Simon Peter had refused to give his boat out to Jesus for evangelism, (which was eminent,) Jesus would have gone for the other boat which was also available and standing by. In the end, Simon Peter had a big catch and a call to follow the Master. When we obey the Master's voice, there is always a reward.

. To sum it up, I would like to share how important is it, not to disobey the Master's call. You might not know the alternative person who would take up your abandoned opportunity.   May the good Lord grant you special grace to be humble and protect your position in Jesus' name.
