SEEKING THE FACE OF GOD  IN PREPARATION TO SING

As a singer, it is important to seek direction from a higher power before performing at a service. This not only allows for a deeper connection with the divine but also allows for a more impactful performance. Seeking the face of God, therefore, can provide a sense of guidance and direction that cannot be obtained through any other means.

When we sing, we have the opportunity to use our voices to worship and glorify God. This act of worship is not only a reflection of our faith but also a reflection of our innermost thoughts and emotions. By seeking the face of God before singing at a service, we can tap into a higher level of spirituality and connect with the divine in a more profound way.

CREATING SPACE FOR GOD

The act of seeking the face of God can take many forms. Some people may choose to pray or meditate before performing, while others may read scripture or sing hymns. Regardless of the method chosen, the goal is to create a space for God to speak and provide guidance.

This guidance may come in the form of a feeling, a word, or an impression that can help us better connect with the audience and convey the intended message. In addition to providing guidance, seeking the face of God can also provide a sense of peace and calmness.

Singing at a service can be nerve-wracking, especially if it is a large congregation or a particularly important event. By seeking God's face beforehand, we can release our worries and concerns and trust that He will provide the strength and ability needed to perform well.

One example of seeking the face of God before singing at a service can be found in the story of King David in the Bible. In Psalm 27:8, David writes, "My heart says of you, 'Seek his face!' Your face, Lord, I will seek."

This passage illustrates David's desire to seek God's face and receive guidance before going into battle. The Bible is full of examples of singers and musicians who sought God's face and received direction from Him.

For example, in 2 Chronicles 20, King Jehoshaphat appointed singers to lead the army into battle. As they sang and praised God, the Lord gave them victory over their enemies. This story illustrates the power of worship and the importance of seeking God's direction in our singing ministry.

In the same way, we can seek God's face before singing at a service, trusting that He will provide the guidance and strength needed to perform well.

Another example can be found in the story of Mary and Martha in the Bible. In Luke 10:41-42, Jesus says to Martha, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."

This passage illustrates the importance of prioritizing time with God over other tasks and responsibilities. By taking the time to seek God's face before singing at a service, we are prioritizing our relationship with Him and putting Him first in our lives.

It is easy to get caught up in the performance aspect of leading worship, therefore we need to make a conscious effort to seek His face. When seeking the face of God, it is important to remember that it is not a one-time event, but rather an ongoing process.

THE ROLE OF PRAYER

We must continually seek God's guidance and direction in all aspects of our lives, including our singing. This means being intentional about setting aside time for prayer, meditation, and scripture reading on a regular basis.

Prayer is everything. One's voice can go off but when you have the unction of prayer upon you, you are halfway through. Prayer cannot really be overemphasized.

A singer who does not wait upon God in prayer is nothing before the Devil. As singers, we hold the destinies of people in our hands when it comes to church services. We can either liberate people through our singing or just do a cosmetic fleshy thing that will benefit nobody.

Although we are singers, time in prayer is of cardinal importance. For more details about prayer, read my article;

PRAYER IN THE LIFE OF A SINGER

.

Prayer cannot travel without fasting. Fasting is a way to humble ourselves before God and seek His will for our lives. When we fast, we set aside our own desires and focus on God's desires for us. This can lead to a deeper understanding of God's will for our singing ministry and a greater sensitivity to His leading.

In addition to seeking God's face before singing at a service, it is also important to practice and prepare. This means putting in the necessary time and effort to ensure that the performance is of the highest quality possible.

Practicing can also help to calm nerves and build confidence, allowing for a more impactful performance.

A DEEPER CONNECTION

Ultimately, seeking the face of God before singing at a service is about creating a deeper connection with the divine and allowing for God's guidance and direction to shine through in the performance. By prioritizing our relationship with God and trusting in His guidance, we can sing with greater purpose and impact, touching the hearts and souls of those in the congregation.

We cannot rule away the direction of the Holy Spirit. We should remain open to the leading of the Holy Spirit. This may mean deviating from our planned song list or adjusting the tempo or key of a song to better fit the moment.

We should also be sensitive to the congregation and their needs, allowing the music to minister to them in a way that is meaningful and relevant to their lives.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, seeking the face of God before singing at a service is a powerful way to connect with the divine and receive guidance and direction for the performance. By prioritizing our relationship with God

I hope and trust that this message will go a long way to bless you. Glory!
